How Does Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression Work?

We want our patients to enjoy life to the fullest by being mobile, flexible, and agile. At Taber Chiropractic and Laser Spine Therapy Center, we are dedicated to providing patients with chiropractic solutions to meet their specific health needs. If you have degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, an injured disc, or any issue that affects the nerves in the back, spinal decompression may be recommended by our chiropractors, Dr. Ted Taber and Dr. Diane Taber. Non-invasive spinal decompression will relieve your back pain, improve your mobility, and minimize the likelihood of your back pain returning in the future.

What Is Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression?

Non-surgical spinal decompression involves having the patient lie on a specialized table. The patient will be connected to a machine that gently stretches the spine, relieving pressure on discs, joints, and connective tissues. The level of tension is regulated by the machine and is set to a level determined by our chiropractor.

Benefits of Spinal Decompression

The discs between the vertebrae will sometimes degenerate, herniate, or bulge which causes pain. A non-invasive surgical decompression procedure can alleviate neck or back pain that radiates down the arms and legs.  Typically, conditions that respond well to traction will respond even better to spinal decompression.  When you first visit our office, our chiropractor will assess your condition to determine if you will benefit from non-surgical spinal decompression.  First, the doctors will do a test to evaluate how well the patient responds to Spinal Decompression.  The test is less resistance (weight) and a shorter time frame.  If that is favorable, we will start a series of spinal decompression visits.  Lower back pain and degenerative disc diseases respond particularly well to this treatment.
